Sara helps clients overcome anxiety, depression, perinatal challenges, grief, and the lingering effects of trauma.

Sara Meyerhoeffer is a compassionate therapist helping folks who struggle with anxiety and depression. She specializes in supporting women through the perinatal period, encompassing the journey from conception through pregnancy, postpartum, and into parenting. With an MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University and certifications as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Perinatal Mental Health Counselor, Sara brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her practice.

Her primary focus is on supporting anxious mothers, parents of NICU infants, and those navigating grief and loss related to miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, or medically necessary termination. Sara is passionate about building strong therapeutic relationships with her clients, creating a safe and trusting space where individuals can freely explore their experiences and emotions.

Sara also works with clients who are working through general feelings of anxiety, depression, grief, or trauma. She employs a holistic, relationship-based approach that includes trauma-informed perspectives, systems theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and mindfulness practices. Her style is characterized by openness and authenticity, often using humor to foster connection and ease during challenging conversations. Sara believes in sitting with the harrowing experiences alongside her clients, working as a supportive companion on their healing journeys.

Sara helps all her clients feel safe and comfortable, encouraging them to be their authentic selves as they delve into their personal growth. Through practical skill-building, mindfulness, compassion, and resource development, she empowers new parents to navigate the complexities of parenthood with confidence and resilience.
