Maddie Decker, LPC
Maddie’s pronouns are She/Her
Maddie has over a decade of experience working with children through adults.
With adults, her warm, empathetic nature helps clients open up and explore how to live more mindful and meaningful lives. She helps her clients overcome anxiety, depression, traumatic experiences, and borderline personality. Her approach is person-centered first, which means that she meets everyone where they are, and uses conversation and questions to help her clients process their thoughts and emotions. But she also utilizes modalities such as DBT, EMDR, and creativity-focused approaches.*
With children and teens, Maddie is playful and engaging. She utilizes games, play therapy, art and creativity (and even a sand tray!) in her sessions.
Throughout play, she sprinkles in mindfulness skills, emotion and self-regulation strategies, CBT and social-emotional learning. She has years of experience in schools and private practice working with children who struggle with anxiety, OCD, PTSD, depression, and ADHD.
Maddie also enjoys working with parents collaboratively to make parenting plans that honor the innate knowledge and wisdom parents bring to the table.
